WHAT TYPES OF HOME FITNESS EQUIPMENT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
I try to make these workouts as effective as possible with minimum equipment required. A pair of hand weights are used in many Fit Brit Vids, and mini bands are optional for a few lower body workouts. You can always do the workouts without the equipment as well, or just use anything you have weighted at home!
HOW ARE YOU DIFFERENT FROM A REGULAR TRAINER AT A GYM?
My background in gymnastics and dance has given me the unique ability to recognize the incredible need to balance both strength and flexibility within the body. My passion is specifically with functional training and exercising in a way that will improve your ability to carry out everyday activities (ie: playing with your kids, running errands, sitting at your desk for long periods of time, etc). In addition to improving these areas of life, functional training will increase overall mobility, stability, posture, and helps to prevents long term injuries as well as combat chronic pain.
Many trainers in a gym these days will focus on strength, weight loss or building a certain physical aesthetic. While I love lifting weights and pushing myself to my fullest potential, I will always emphasize the need to listen to your body and what it's telling you it needs, versus the other way around. Your body will show it's limitations in strength due to other imbalances within the body. Because of this, I will always have a equal amount of videos available on my website to work your body evenly in all planes of motion, as well as a focus on lengthening your muscles as much as strengthening.
